Remuneration definition and meaning
A remuneration is the total dollar amount paid to an employee. It can include a base salary plus any bonuses, commission payments, overtime pay, or other financial benefits an employee receives from their employer.

Remuneration is always used to refer to the total of all compensation before tax. It also can, but does not always, include other cash and non-cash payments, such as tips or bonuses.
Other examples of remuneration include commission payments, retirement savings contributions, and can be other fringe benefits of financial value. Most of time, employers will use a payroll provider to make sure remuneration is distributed properly and that any taxable wages are accounted for.
